My Story
Making AI Useful, Not Just Impressive
I'm the founder and director of Gen AI Innovation, an AI-augmented training and consulting business based on South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal North Coast. I've spent more than 30 years in business, managing technology-enabled enterprise solutions and research projects in over 25 African countries — and the last several years focused entirely on one question: how do we make AI genuinely useful for the people using it, not just impressive in a demo.
That question has taken me into real workplaces, not just boardrooms — factory floors, lodge reception desks, school staff rooms, hotel back-offices. I built the Gen AI Innovation™ methodology to strip away the hype and give people a practical, repeatable way to work with AI, whatever that work actually looks like day to day.
I've now trained over 1,000 delegates across businesses, schools and government bodies, and I still measure success the same way I did on day one: by whether people leave able to do something they couldn't do before.
I'm also a recognised contributor to South Africa's AI and Digital Transformation Practitioner occupational profile, developed with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and MICT SETA — work that keeps me close to where AI skills policy in South Africa is actually heading.
Outside of training rooms, you'll find me [one line here — happy to fit whatever you'd like, kept brief].
